    CEP Ceilings announce product update

    7th November 2013

CEP Ceilings have announced a product update for their improved CEP Fine Texture tegular mineral tile.

CEP Ceilings have improved the painting process to ensure a more consistent paint finish on the tegular edges and the new paint process has also resulted in a slightly brighter face finish with a higher light reflectance. The product will still have the granulated face finish with micro perforations for acoustics.

The Fine Texture square edge will continue to be manufactured and finished in the same way as before due to the edges not needing to be painted to the same level. Square edge and tegular tiles should not be mixed into the same area as there will be a slight difference in appearance.

The new tegular Fine Texture tiles should not be mixed into the ceiling with the previous product as they will not match. Small stocks of the previous product are available but this will be phased out quite quickly and it is not CEP's intention to manufacture the previous product anymore.

    Carton Quantity

They have also taken the decision to pack the tegular tiles in cartons of 12 rather than the previous quantity of 10. The improved baseboard is also easier to handle so now more square metres can be transported on site in a shorter space of time.

As it stands currently they are keeping the grid panel products in their existing carton quantities. There will be an update announced if this changes.

    Packaging

Ceiling tiles are usually packed in cardboard sleeves which are labelled and then shrink wrapped. The cartons are usually blank but some products are packed with CEP branded sleeves. Fine Texture has historically been in CEP branded sleeves but the new tegular product will be in blank sleeves initially. This is due to the increased carton size for the tegular products and to assist in differentiating the new Fine Texture from the old in warehouses.

    Technical Performance

Technical performance for the Fine Texture product is as per the product datasheet. This is the same for the manufacturers declarations of performance statementswhich are also on the website.
